Creating clear ice
Traditionally, water is frozen from all directions. This method of freezing causes impurities to become trapped inside, leading to the ‘fog’ we see inside ice cubes.
Directional freezing freezes from only one direction. As a consequence, all impurities are pushed out; this is the method we use to create clear ice. Producing & shaping clear ice is a slightly involved process, which is why establishments prefer to outsource it.
Instead of using enterprise grade equipment to create clear ice, we’ll DIY our own method to validate this opportunity.
